As BCCE returns to Madison fifty years after the 4th Biennial Conference on Chemical Education, we are grateful to mark this moment with statewide recognition of the people and work that continue to shape chemistry education.
Governor Tony Evers has proclaimed July 26–August 1, 2026, as Chemistry Education Week throughout the State of Wisconsin, coinciding with BCCE 2026 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This proclamation honors the contributions of chemistry educators across schools, technical colleges, universities, and communities, while recognizing the role chemistry education plays in discovery, innovation, sustainability, and preparing students to address the challenges ahead.
In the spirit of Reflecting Back, Marching Forward, Chemistry Education Week invites us to celebrate where the field has been, recognize the communities that have carried it forward, and look together toward the future of chemistry education.
